Newmarket won the County U/16 Division 2 Shield Final by defeating Corofin in Carron on Monday evening last.it was a hard fought game with both sides giving it their all...Newmarket went in at half time leading 0-6 to 0-5...Corofin started the second half strongly and led 0-8 to 0-7 with 10 minutes to go..Newmarket showed great determination and fitness to score 5 unanswered points to win. Captain Ronan McAuley accepted the shield from Bord na nOg Peil Chairman Billy Archibald.

Newmarket U/16 footballers qualified for the county U/16 Div 2 Shield final with a hard fought win over Kilrush. We lead 3-3 to 0-0 at half time playing with a strong wind. Kilrush came back into the game in the second half but the Blues showed great spirit to win on a score 4-6 to 4-4.We now play Corofin in the final.We played them in our first match which was a very tight game winning by just one point.The final is on Monday, 18th May neutral venue to be decided...

Newmarket notched up their second win in the Under 16 Division 2 Football Championship. Newmarket got off to a great start scoring1-4 to 0-1 after 15 minutes.
Corofin took control for the rest of the half leaving the score at half time 2-3 to 1-4.The second half turned out to be a thriller. An Oisín O' Connor goal with 5 minutes to go
set Newmarket up for a great win...next game will be on 27th April v Clarecastle in Clarecastle.

Newmarket U/16 footballers  got their Championship off to a winning start on Monday evening. Playing against the wind in the first half they led by 1-2 to 0-2 with all the scores coming from Alan Kelly. With the wind at their backs in the second half and early goals from Ronan McAuley and Kelly, it set them well on their way to victory.
