Friday:
U-21 'C' Semi-final: v Bodyke, @Tulla (10/04/2009)
Unfortunately Newmarket came off second best in this highly entertaining 'C' championship semi final. There was little between the sides for most of the first half before Newmarket hit a purple patch and scored five unanswered points followed by a goal shortly after by Liam Clancy. This left Newmarket in a commanding half time position on a scoreline of 1-13 to 1-07. Bodyke, however responded in style after the break and soon the sides were level. With only ten minutes gone, Bodyke goaled from a 21 metre free and regained the lead, which they never surrendered. Newmarket continued to press and with only 7 minutes remaining the deficit was 4 points. Bodyke finished the stronger and added points to finish the game winners on a high scoreline of 3-20 to 1-19.
