Junior A Championship Play-off: v Cratloe @ Sixmilebridge 12/09/09: N-on-F: 1-13 Cratloe: 1-13
The Junior A's must replay Cratloe to keep their Championship hopes alive. The sides ended all square after a tough 60 minutes of hurling. Only one point separated them at half time. Cratloe stretched their lead to 5 points with only ten minutes played in the second half. Newmarket fought back strongly and a goal by Rory Murphy brought the teams level and ensured a replay to see who will progress to the semi-final.

The Junior A team have qualified for a play-off for the semi-final stages of their championship after a well earned victory over St.Joseph's. The play-off is against Cratloe and is fixed for this Saturday, 12th September at 4pm in Shannon.

Junior A League Final v St.Joseph's 28/07/2009 @ N-on-F: N-on-F: 2-19 St.Joseph's D/B: 0-10
On Wednesday, July 28th Newmarket had plenty reason to celebrate after winning the Junior A league title in great style for the first time since 1998.. They defeated St.Joseph's D/B on a scoreline of 2-19 to 0-10. The game was deferred at the weekend due to the death of Fr.Michael McNamara,PP of Doora Barefield. Joseph's opened the scoring and the sides were evenly matched for 20 minutes. Leading 0-10 to 0-06 points at half time, Newmarket were yet to play with the aid of a strong breeze. Shane O'Leary's goal put 8 between the sides and Newmarket continued to dominate in most areas. Ronan McCormack scored Newmarket's second goal and sealed victory for the team. Captain Tomás Ryan accepted the trophy. Well done to all involved.
