The Senior Hurlers bowed out of the championship at the semi-final stage this year, unable to overcome Clonlara in Cusack Park. Although trailing by three points at half time, Newmarket were right back in contention within two minutes of the restart with points from Shane O'Brien, Mikey McInerney and Seán Arthur. Clonlara answered with one point and Newmarket duly replied. Score line now read 7 points each. However over the next few minutes Clonlara opened up a 6 point lead which effectively ended Newmarket's hope for victory. A late goal from Enda Kelly could not change the result and Clonlara emerged winners on a scoreline 1-14 to 1-09

The Minor Camogie team took to the field in Clarecastle on Sunday at 5:15pm for their Championship final against Kilmaley. It was always going to be a close contest as only one score has separated the teams in recent meetings. Both teams also have club senior players and many intercounty stars. Newmarket led by a goal at half time. Kilmaley began to claw into our lead but with a one point lead two minutes into injury time, it looked like enough was done to capture the title. However, Kilmaley struck the back of the Newmarket net and inflicted a heartbreaking defeat for our girls.
